Servant leadership is another leadership style that is congruent with person-centred care. The role of a servant leader involves nurturing, mentoring, and empowering others, including employees, peers, patients, families, and communities. Servant leaders put others first and focus on working towards the greater good, often sacrificing their own needs. They respect and value the input of team members. They have compassion, empathy, integrity, and humility (Marshall, 2016).
