Final Project – 300 points

You made it to the final project!The project is intended to apply the web mapping skills you learned in each unit to a topic you are interested in.

Use the CSCC ArcGIS Online Organization to create a web map and web app about a topic of interest to you.If you need inspiration – http://www.esri.com/products/maps-we-love.

What to turn in:

  • Save your map, app, and all layers (named with your name, username, or initials) to your CSCC Organization account.
  • Answer sheet (provided below)

Process

  • Add at least one layer publicly offered on ArcGIS Online.You are not limited to the CSCC organization.

  • Search for maps/apps related to your topic already publicly available on ArcGIS Online.You’re not limited to the CSCC organization.You do not have to use an existing map or app; you can create your own if you’d like.Either way, list and briefly discuss at least one map or app you found in your search.
    • Describe, in general, the maps you found. [5 points]
    • Did you decide to use an existing map as a starting point for your map?Explain your reasoning. [5 points]
  • Add at least one layer from file (data downloaded from a website to your own computer and then added to your map).
    • Provide each layer name. [5 points]

  • Change the symbology for at least one layer.
