All of the knowledge gain from this course will be very helpful for me. I have a mom who is sick all the time and I`m always going to doctor appointments with her. Now when the doctor is explaining things about her condition I will be able to understand it a lot better.

To an extent, university already develops self-reliance unlike school, you are encouraged to find your own answers and develop your own path. But applying this skill in an academic environment is completely different from doing it in the workplace, eventually leading to a greater sense of self-awareness when there would more riding on one’s actions than just one’s grades (Jackson & Wilton, 2016).Demonstrating that I can be trusted to take on a task and complete it independently will surely give potential employers that warm fuzzy feeling; it will also help me to understand my own strengths and weaknesses, and how I can cultivate them accordingly.

Self-Developed Case Study:
For the final unit, you will select ophthalmology or otorhinolaryngology as an area of focus and develop a case study. Using medical terminology and eponyms and abbreviations that are associated with the area of specialty that you select, construct a scenario that includes the following elements:
- a patient,
- the patient’s age,
- significant information about the patient’s condition,
- description of significant symptoms,
- diagnosis of the disease and/or condition suffered by the patient, and
- treatment plan, including procedures, that may need to be done.
Your case study should be at l200 words in length. You are required to use at least your textbook as source material for your response. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.
